An “A” for Athena Club By: Jaimeson Talley
The Bowling Green Junior High School Athena Club recently took a field trip to Sky CTC, Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College, on October 19, 2017. The Athena Club is a seventh grade girls association that has had the opportunity to listen to some of the most successful women in Bowling Green. They have met lawyers and non-profit members, Miss Kentucky 2012, and have learned how to live in a positive and successful manner.
“Be a successful person, and hang out with the right people, and it will lead you to a successful future,” said Lily Kate Carver, a seventh grader at Bowling Green Junior High School.
Lily Kate, as well as the other members, ate lunch and took a trip around Sky CTC. They had the chance to view the classrooms, as well as the welding area.
“You’re not going to make it if you just give up. You have to keep trying even if you think you are going to fail,” said Summer Piercy, a BGJHS seventh grader.
Summer talked to the other business and Athena winners. Through the Athena club, the women were able to learn the skills and values they need to become successful in real life.
All in all, the Athena Club had the chance to experience both a positive and educational field trip. Not only did they enjoy themselves together as a whole, they were able to prosper and prepare themselves to live a successful future.
