Behind the Court

The Bowling Green Junior High’s Boys and Girls Basketball Team have had a successful season. The girls and boys are dedicated to what they put in their work. The girls make sure that they are always prepared before stepping foot in the gym.
“I go home, get ready, warm-up and go to the game,” said Whitaker Buchanan, a 7th grade girl’s basketball player at BGJHS.
The girls are just as tough as the boys when competing for the win. When spending time with their teammates before the game, they tend to get excited and hyped for the game in their special place, the girl’s locker room.
Keyozden Jones, an 8th grader and girl’s basketball player at BGJHS, said that her teammates get hyped up and sing lyrics from a song called, “All I do Is Win,” to show they have the presumption of their ability to win.
Furthermore, the boys have also been through an amazing season. The boys can easily find something to laugh about and bring th energy uo the game. Their bond as brothers pull each of them out of their comfort zone and make them play better.
“We joke around at times, but that’s what motivates us,” said Geoffrey Ross, an 8th grade boy’s basketball player at BGJHS.
Anyone can have great players, but if they’re not committed to being a team, then it’s not going to be successful.
