New Year, new you

New Year, new you

It’s time to welcome the New Year because 2016 is here! 2015 has already come and gone, and everyone is excited to make this year just as great as the last. Students at Bowling Green Junior High School celebrate this holiday in many different ways.

“We get apple cider, stay up late, and watch the ball drop,” said Emma French, a sixth grader at BGJHS.

It is very popular to watch the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve show while the ball drops in Times Square in New York City. It provides performances from popular artists. Millions of people watch this show all over the country every year as a tradition.

It is also a tradition that everyone makes a New Year’s Resolution that states what an individual will complete to make themselves a better person.

“My resolution is to try and keep my grades pretty high,” said Jackson Banks, a seventh grader at BGJHS.

Most students’ resolutions involve receiving or maintaining good grades. They plan to continue doing their homework and studying for tests and quizzes. Other students are looking forward to 2016 for different reasons.

“There will be a lot of different technology coming out this year,” said Connor McCoy, an eighth grader at BGJHS.

Technology is such a big part of our world now that we are always looking forward to upgrades and ways these devices can improve our lives. Technology such as the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, Sony Playstation VR, Microsoft HoloLens, iPhone 7 (and 7 Plus), iPhone 6C, Apple iPad Air 3, and Nintendo NX Game console are all rumored to be coming out this year.
Let’s make 2016 the best year yet especially at BGJHS!
