The 2015-2016 winter sports season is coming to an end, and all of the teams have done very well. Bowling Green Junior High School had a winter sports pep rally to recognize all of the basketball teams.

The boys’ basketball team includes sixth, seventh, and eighth grade boys. The girls have a seventh and an eighth grade team as well.

The girls seventh grade team has gone undefeated, and they won their district tournament. The girls eighth grade team finished first in their tournament.

Seventh grade boys team earned second place in their tournament. The boys eighth grade team finished in their district tournament. Both seventh and eighth grade, boys and girls, teams ended their season very well.

“Winter sports are a good idea because they provide a way for kids to stay active during winter,” said Kallie Wood, an eighth grader in BGJHS.

The pep rally to identify the athletes was a good idea because they need to be recognized.

“Kids should be recognized for all the hard work they put into sports,” said Kallie.

The students were glad to be noticed for their distinguishing accomplishments. As a result of this pep rally, the athletes stood on the gym floor and the student body applauded them.
